Open student minds to science and agriculture as they open the pages to true-life stories and beautiful illustrations of four new children’s books. Since 2020, Colorado Agriculture in the Classroom has partnered with local authors and illustrators to publish new accurate agriculture books that have been used for its annual Literacy Project. Book topics include Pueblo chiles, sheep and wool grazing in a Colorado forest, peaches, agriculture history (and soon beef cattle and corn!). The books connect with academic standards for science, social studies, language arts, and more. Session attendees will get to review the books and explore corresponding hands-on activities for PreK-5 students.
