Accessing authentic data to encourage scientific observations doesn't have to be difficult. Using weather as a touchstone, this session will focus on ideas, projects, experiments, and that allow elementary teachers to hook kids on using data in their everyday lives. Teachers will walk away with ready made lesson plans and tactics to start teaching elementary kids how to use data to make decisions in their everyday lives--plus have fun! Make a cloud! Talk about pikas! Meet a meteorologist! These ideas and more will be presented.
