This session will develop an understanding of the importance of gender inclusive teaching and learning and explore the many opportunities to authentically include gender-diverse content in a biology curriculum. Participants will be introduced to the Framework and explore how it supports teaching about gender, sex, and sexuality in accurate and inclusive ways within the context of biology. Participants will apply the elements of the Framework as they consider a variety of biology topics that provide rich opportunities for gender inclusive teaching and learning including X/Y chromosomes, meiosis, natural selection, and human skeletal analysis. Free planning tools and resources from GenderInclusiveBiology.com will be shared.
