Wing it is a multifaceted cross curricular lesson encompassing elementary through High school students. This presentation with a hands-on component, will walk the audience through the Wing it lesson(s) utilized with APES, AP Physics and Centennial Science Outreach with local elementary students. These lessons were designed from Professional Development with TRAILS of Purdue and University of Hawaii funded by NSF. The Project tone is based on Place Based learning as well as 3D Printing using biomimicry to improve the efficiency of turbine blades. The presenters will walk the audience through the field trip exposing students to birds of flight as well as current turbine builds to the design of the blades using fusion based on biomimicry to the printing and finalization of the blade efficiency testing.
